We offer our programs at schools and community centers around the area, teaching weekly classes and running fun-splashed summer camps! Here are just a few of the characteristics that make our programs unique.
Founded in 1986, Playball has a proven, long-term track record, and we now teach some 250,000 children in countries around the world.
We focus on instilling life skills such as sportsmanship, cooperation, and persistence, while also building self-esteem in children. We believe in building “confidence through competence” by getting children comfortable executing fundamental sports skills. Our low-pressure, fun sporting atmosphere encourages children of ALL athletic abilities to join in the fun. Integrating 7 different sports - baseball, basketball, soccer, football, kickball, tennis, and volleyball - into our program allows for the development of a wide variety of skills. Structured classes that incorporate an age-appropriate curriculum for ages 2 through 10 provide for an educational environment that compliments that in their classroom. Our holistic approach recognizes how play can affect our students on multiple levels, including their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Small class sizes mean productive classes with plenty of interaction with the Coach. |
Playball's programs are based on a series of age-appropriate curricula, with each subsequent program building on the skills learned in the previous stages:
- I Can Do is Playball's introductory program for 2 and 3-year-olds. It focuses on laying the basic foundations of movement, in order to enable your child to accomplish more challenging sport related skills, as they get older. A 2-year-old is still discovering the wonderful things that bodies can do, and needs lots of practice in basic skills through fun but structured sessions
- The Watch Me Play program at Playball recognizes and develops the growing skill set of your 3 and 4-year-old child. Our focus here is on participation within a group, and teaching children in a friendly, caring, and supportive environment through carefully structured lesson.
- The Dinkies program is specifically designed for 4 and 5-year-olds, and is perfect for youngsters just starting school. Using a series of structured lessons, your child is given the opportunity to practice skills which will develop their confidence to continue the exciting journey into sport participation and tackling more advanced sport skills
- In addition to fine-tuning skills developed in the previous Playball programs, your child will practice more demanding and specialized sports skills and sport sequences in our Preps program for 5 and 6-year-olds, with an emphasis on the quality of the skills execution.
- The Play Sport program is designed for ages 6 and up and refines the more demanding ball skills for the sports that are covered in schools and clubs. These sessions use structured teaching that deals with the refinement of sport and movement skills, including the development of teamwork skills needed in a typical game situation.
